Accounting FAQs

Do I need an accounting degree?

No. Most accountancy firms recruit graduates from any subject and pay for your professional qualification.

What is the difference between ACA, ACCA and CIMA?

ACA and ACCA are the main qualifications for audit and tax at accountancy firms. CIMA focuses on management accounting and is common on in-house finance schemes.

Why should I apply early?

Many firms review applications as they arrive and close a scheme or office once it is full, often well before the published deadline.

Do firms still ask for a 2:1 or UCAS points?

Many have dropped grade requirements, but some still set them. Each listing shows what the employer publishes.
